Scott Rothman is a writer of picture books, screenplays, theater, and humor. His debut books, Attack of the Underwear Dragon and Return of the Underwear Dragon, were both National Indie bestsellers, and his recent Kittybunkport was featured on the TODAY Show and selected for Jenna Bush Hager’s Summer Reading List. His picture book Warm and Fuzzy earned a starred review from Booklist, which praised it as a “fun and helpful read about overcoming anxieties.”
Rothman’s other children’s titles include Blue Bison Needs a Haircut, Bubble Gum Bison Needs a Bath, Parfait, Not Parfait, Mako & Tiger: A Shark’s Tale, and Basketball Town, with six more books forthcoming in 2026. His screenwriting credits include Draft Day, which topped the 2012 Black List before becoming a feature film, and Army of One. He also wrote the book for the musical Todd vs. the Titanic. Rothman’s humor has appeared in The New Yorker, GQ, and McSweeney’s.
