David Ian and Rebekah McKendry met in their undergraduate Theatre Arts program, where they quickly began writing spooky plays together. Many years—and a couple of kids—later, they are an acclaimed horror writing and directing duo. They have made multiple feature films, including Sundown, coming to Shudder and AMC in winter 2027, and have worked with numerous acclaimed companies, including Fangoria, Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Blumhouse, AMC Networks, Hachette Publishing, Universal Studios, Dark Horse Comics, Shudder, Paramount, and more. Their recent work includes Pretty Evil from Margaret K. McElderry Books, 1313 Shadowbrook Lane from Penguin Random House, Barstow from Dark Horse Comics, and the feature films Glorious (2022) and Sundown (2027). David and Rebekah have two kids, two dogs, two cats, and several tarantulas. When not writing, they can often be found riding the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland or touring the country in their camper.
